Challenge
The goal was to create a logo refresh that aligned with the Spartan Race's already established identity while introducing a fresh angle.

Approaching the challenge
The Spartan Race has a well established identity and feel that many around the world admire. I took a risk by introducing a heavily typographic logo but still made sure that it could be separated into an identifiable symbol as seen on the hat I designed.
Understanding the user
The Spartan Race has created a world wide community of people who want to challenge themselves physically mentally and psychologically. They are supportive and uplifting of each other. Many of their customers are repeat racers who recognize that their true obstacle is themselves.
Solution
A logo that is modernized and more sophisticated and that communicates more movement celebrating the Spartan lore.
